POSITION PURPOSE
To provide high quality swimming instruction that helps the individual member achieve desired results in a safe and positive environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Current swimming certification or comparable required; certification training will be provided if necessary.
- Current CPR/FA certification – recommended; certification training will be provided if necessary.
- Attend in-service and staff meetings.
- Mature, responsible behavior.
- Provide swimming instruction to members of all ages and skill levels using appropriate techniques.
- Coordinate lesson plans for each session in a timely manner (i.e. rhythmic breathing, kicks, safety topics, etc).
- Maintain current records including class rosters, evaluation skill sheets, and certificate of achievement cards.
- Take roll accurately and comparing it against the class roster sheets. Notify Aquatics Director of any discrepancies in attendance records.
- Comply with club policies/guidelines that include but are not limited to uniforms, work substitutions, schedule requests, handbook, and time clock procedures.
- Stay informed and up to date on RAC policies, procedures, and upcoming events.
- For each session of group classes you teach, you will receive a complimentary individual membership for that period of time. Six private lessons or 3 hours of private lessons per week also qualifies you for the complimentary individual membership.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- Overall satisfaction level of members within your area of responsibility.
- Feedback and satisfaction level of other RAC Team Members.
- Being on time and reporting for all your scheduled shifts.
- Provide a “Member Experience First” for all members and guests.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Average Communication: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately and quickly.
Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions.
Language Ability: Ability to read and proficiently speak and communicate in English with both guests as well as other RAC personnel.
