Painter Helper

Body Shop

Summary

The Painter Helper position assists the painter in refinishing and painting damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards.  The Painter Helper position is responsible for preparing repaired vehicles for refinishing and assisting painters with their work.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply masking to protect parts that are not to be painted or coated.
  • Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping or washing and removing rust, metal, grease and dirt from work surface(s).
  • Assist in the priming, treating, refinishing, painting and buffing vehicle surfaces and vehicle bodies according to dealership and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure masking is removed and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled.
  • Clean and maintain spray equipment after each use; maintain tools and equipment clean and in a proper state of repair; must account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
  • Maintain and wear all required personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Comply with all regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean and are only driven for business purpose.
  • Participate in painter training activities; attend factory-sponsored classes.
  • Meet customer service standards by achieving ‘above district’ customer service information “CSI” scores.
  • Follow established safety protocols; report any shop equipment in improper working condition; immediately report safety incidents.
  • Understand, keep informed of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know.
  • Safeguard dealership assets and customer data. 
  • Complete required training assigned through the company training portal.
  • Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the Mac Haik Automotive group brand.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License with  acceptable driving record
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening
  • Authorization to work in the USA
