Lending Assistant

Dumas

Salary Range: $19.00-$24.00

Reports To: Branch Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Position Overview

Responsible for assisting lenders in the handling of their loan and deposit relationship. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service.

  • Assist the lender in the relationship building process.

  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate bank services including deposit products.

  • Handle and resolve ACH and debit card disputes.

  • Understand, open and be able to quote certificate of deposit products and IRA products.

  • Assist customers with online banking and other e-products.

  • Ensure loan compliance.

  • Prepares check list for prefunding reviews.

  • Prepare, order and process commercial and customer loans.

  • Verify all loan perfecting materials are included with the loan.

  • Obtain credit and vehicle value and flood report.

  • Prepare correspondence to customers as needed.

  • Prepare commercial and consumer loan documents.

  • Understand and assist in the UCC and title filing process as necessary.

  • Complete deferrals, extensions, withdrawals, declinations, and renewals for loan officers.

  • Assist officers with credit memos and analysis reports.

  • Request cashier’s checks and prepare various tickets for loans as needed.

  • Prepare estimates, complete disclosures, and deliver notices.

  • Assist the loan documentation department with clearing of exceptions and memos to credit tracking.

  • Adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Loan documentation errors could result in customer dissatisfaction, loss of customers, financial loss for the Bank, damage to Bank reputation, and/or potential litigation against the Bank.

Employee will have frequent contact with president, loan officers, loan documentation dept., and other personnel within the Bank and some occasional contact with Bank Directors and Committee members. 

Employee will have frequent contact with customers and occasional contact with bank examiners, realtors, attorneys, the abstract office, Treasurer’s office, and county and state officials.

Knowledge, Skills, and abilities:

  • Good interpersonal skills: able to work well with a wide range of people.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously at different stages of progressions.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines.

  • Good sense of customer service.

  • Good attention to detail.

Physical requirements: 

This is sedentary work that requires the following physical activities: May require lifting, bending, stooping, carrying objects over 25 pounds and drive for extended amounts of time. 

Minimum qualifications for consideration: 

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
