Fleet Support Specialist (TN, Chattanooga)

The Fleet Specialist will assist the Risk Management Department with the day-to-day administration of the Fleet Services daily tasks. This position will be responsible for the research and analysis of factual data and will carry out routine tasks such as communicating with the insurance company(s) on claims, communicating with the Five Star Fleet Management company and tracking data on the Five Star Fleet Vehicles. The position will also be responsible for updating departmental files, maintaining schedules, and providing reports pertaining to the job function.

This position will report to the Director of Fleet and Safety to assist in the functions of Fleet Management.  This includes aiding in the management of the following:

  • Departmental Data Entry, Tracking and Reporting
  • Vehicle Accident and Maintenance Claims Reporting and Managing
  • Track and report on Fllet Activities through the Fleet Management System
  • Track and report on the Pre-Trip Inspection platform.
  • Track and report on the GPS/Telematics/Camera System.
  • Work with the Fleet Administrator to assist on those duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily activities of vehicle accidents and subrogation claims consistent with Five Star procedures.
  • Review and maintain current knowledge of Five Star auto insurance policy.            
  • Enter and maintain relevant data to track vehicle accidents and subrogation claims.
  • Assist the department in compiling all Fleet reports and documents necessary to file appropriate claims when subrogating against party that caused damage to Five Star property.                                                      
  • Assist in monitoring of all maintenance of vehicles through the Fleet Management platform. 
  • Remain familiar with current and relevant Five Star policies, practices, and procedures.    
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Any other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • 4-6 years related work experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of related education/training/experience. (Relevant degree preferred)
  • Demonstrated expertise working within all levels of Five Star.
  • Established research, analytical, writing, and implementation skills with DOT, fleet management, and claims processes.
  • Intermediate PC skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication, organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
