POSITION OVERVIEW
Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams, Inc. (WJHW), a nationally recognized design and consulting firm, has an opening for a Physical Security Designer.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a group of consultants and technical system designers on a variety of projects, including sports venues, education, corporate office, and civic buildings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Participating in team communication with clients to ascertain and define needs or problem areas to aid in the development of client-focused solutions.
· Preparing written reports and delivering oral presentations to the client or management team regarding conclusions; and to aid in the development of
cost-effective recommended solutions.
· Assisting with the preparation of schematic designs, design development and construction documents.
· Designing physical security systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, emergency intercom, and vehicle barrier control.
· Supporting other disciplines with a knowledge base of physical security system deployment strategies and device placements.
· Performing on-site review of the physical security systems and generating field observation reports.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s Degree with three (3) years of work experience in the construction/security industry; or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work
experience in the construction/security industry.
· Experience in physical security design.
· Working knowledge of computers, computer systems and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and Project and Security related programs.
· Comprehension of construction drawings and the architect design process.
· Experience with AutoCAD/ACAD LT and Revit, an asset but not required.
