Job Description: PVA is growing and adding to the HR team! The Payroll and Human Resource Assistant administers payroll and human resource related functions. This position provides outstanding service, accurate and efficient payment and support regarding the HR needs of employees which ultimately impacts the revenue and long-term profitability of the company. Hours for this position are 7:00 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday. Starting pay is $20-$25 per hour depending on experience. This position requires onsite presence in Halfmoon, NY.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, verifies, and processes payroll on a weekly basis for employees.
  • Responds to employee questions and requests regarding payroll and human resources. 
  • Supports benefit administration including health and wellness and PTO. 
  • Maintains and updates employee records through files and human resource information system (HRIS). 
  • Provides support during onboarding process and employee orientation.
  • Responsible for completing, processing, and managing FMLA, PFL, Worker’s Compensation.
  • Assists with creation of training schedules. 
  • Assists with mentor program for all new employees.
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resources polices, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Assists with coordination of company events/meetings and ensures all schedules, details, and communications are created and executed. 
  • Assists with coordination and recommends employee engagement activities for company.
  • Back up to receptionist if needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee/candidate information 100% of the time.
  • Provides support for all human resource projects.
  • Identifies and introduces new ideas and solutions to create efficiency in the operation.

  • Minimum two (2)+ years of HR or payroll administration, preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
