Applications/Service Engineer

Halfmoon, NY

Job Description - The Applications/Service Engineer provides technical service for the systems and products sold by PVA. This position helps customers maximize value of products from pre shipment through end of life. This position requires frequent travel and includes a training period, duration is dependent on existing knowledge level. The ideal candidate for this role will have mechanical aptitude with good problem solving and interpersonal skills. This position requires onsite presence in Halfmoon, NY.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain expert level technical knowledge of PVA product line.
  • Answers direct questions and resolves issues from customers.
  • Solves problems, diagnoses and resolves issues to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Manages and updates individual service tickets throughout the day to identify any urgent customer needs.
  • Assists customers with process improvement and optimization.
  • Provides onsite support and installations at customer locations globally.
  • Maintains confidentiality of customer information, 100% of the time.
  • Fosters strong customer relationships through run-off, and after shipment service and installations as required.
  • Provides feedback regarding manual updates to ensure they are up to date and relevant to customer needs.
  • Leads, assists and supports team members when performing runoff, installation, rework installation, or onsite service.
  • Trains with Applications Lab to become a process and technical expert.
  • Shares information learned from customer within department.
  • Utilizes 5Y Kaizen process to identify root causes of problems and solutions.

  • Must be technically inclined (mechanical, controls, software, etc.).
  • Minimum one (1)+ year of technical service and commercial experience, preferred.
  • Associate degree in engineering, preferred.
