Software Engineer

Job Description: The Software Engineer is responsible for innovating and designing the systems and products sold by Precision Valve Automation - PVA. This position ensures that the software package is designed correctly, and within customer requirements, budget, and timeframe. This position requires onsite presence in Halfmoon, NY.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review sales orders, interprets engineering needs, and develops questions for customer response to ensure machine is designed based on needs, budget, and timeframe.
- Monitors project to ensure that goals and customer expectations are met, and product is developed on schedule.
- Partners with other departments to develop project schedule.
- Delivers an on-time, complete, and accurate design and documentation package within specified timeframes.
- Designs and develops machine documents, custom software, and generates full bill for parts.
- Participates in peer review meetings to assess and ensure design meets the needs of the customer and company.
- Cross checks team designs and drawings for each machine build.
- Delivers functioning software and documentation to meet customer’s specifications.
- Partners with purchasing to order parts for on time delivery.
- Interprets safety codes so that equipment meets specifications on every design.
- Designs specifications for cameras, bar code readers, and lighting, as needed.
- Diagnoses machine failures and responds to customer service issues, as needed.
- Develops drawings, diagrams, and schematics for patent application, as needed.
- Ensures post run-off punch list is completed based on customer meeting.
- Maintains confidentiality of customer information, 100% of the time.

- Bachelor’s degree in software/computer engineering or computer science, preferred.
