SUMMARY Responsible for supervising all departments of manufacturing of all product lines. This individual also has final decision on all hiring, firing and disciplinary actions at the suggestions of the Production Supervisors.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis job description is meant to highlight your priorities, but is not all-inclusive.

 

  1. Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications.
  2. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  3. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  4. Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  5. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  6. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and qualify of product.
  7. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  8. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  9. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  10. Maintains time and production records.
  11. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  12. Confers with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  13. Performs activities of workers supervised if necessary.
  14. Responsible for department organization, workflow, and housekeeping.
  15. May require occasional travel as needed.
  16. Observe all company policies and procedures.
  17. Must be able to work additional hours to support the organization’s needs.
  18. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the VP of Operations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

 

  1. Proficient in the Windows environment, including Microsoft Office Suite required.
  2. Fabrication or assembly experience required. Experience preferred in sheet metal environment.
  3. Ability to use quality inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, etc.
  4. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  6. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  7. Ability to read and interpret English documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAssociate’s Degree or equivalent from a two (2) year college or technical school, and at least three (3) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment; or at least seven (7) years of related experience and/or training.
