Production Supervisor

Solid Dose Manufacturing

This position has responsibility for all day-to-day operations. In this supervisory role, you will help lead the operations team ensuring a safe working environment while meeting GMP, Quality, and Productivity, Regulatory, and inventory control targets.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assign daily duties for all production personnel. Responsible for time and attendance. Identify and maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Direct and communicate with previous and oncoming shift supervisors each day to discuss any open issues and coordinate a smooth shift transition.
  • Ensure that operators have all necessary instructions, training and tools to do their job properly, and that they understand that they are responsible for the quality of their production. Ensure employees have been cross-trained so that all functions within department have appropriate back-up employees.
  • Coach and develop production employees to maximize their effectiveness, as well as their teams' effectiveness. Identify and develop high potential employees for levels of greater responsibility and scope.
  • Recruit talent that will address needs of the facility and fill technical and competency gaps within the organization.
  • Complete performance evaluations of all Leads and regular shift employees in a timely manner. Develop department personnel and communicate to management additional training needs. Mentor and develop Leads.
  • Hold people accountable for performance; work with under-performers on training assistance or put them in documented performance improvement plans and/or disciplinary programs as necessary.
  • Incorporate and maintain safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good safety practices and habits.
  • Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures through leadership and, if necessary, the progressive discipline system.
  • Attending production meetings when necessary.
  • Maintaining the production schedule in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Contacting and follow-up with appropriate departments to resolve issues
  • Write and review SOP’s
  • Periodically “spot checking” the technicians to ensure that a quality product is being manufactured in compliance with cGMP’s
  • Conducting necessary process investigations
  • Conducting periodic audits of department
  • Checking to make certain all physical characteristics of products are within established ranges
  • Checking reconciliation’s for each in process step for limits and calculations

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • 4 yrs of pharmaceuticals experience

Experience:

  • Production Supervisor: 4 years (Preferred)
