Quality Systems – Quality Inspector

Quality Systems

Primary Tasks

1. Performs quality inspections of production activities that include the following:

a. Inspect and approve production rooms and equipment

b. Inspect rooms and equipment for cleanliness

c. Verify logbooks and properly document cleaning and sanitization activities

2. Inspect and approve products and associated materials and components

3. Inspect product, materials, and components to ensure they are correct for the intended

batch

4. Perform in-process inspection checks and document the following inspections

when applicable:

a. Solid Dose Mfg. – Measurements for weight, hardness, thickness, and durability

b. Solid Dose Pkg. – Tare weight check, tablet/capsule count, torque test,

periodic check

c. Liquid Dose Mfg. – Measurements for pH, density, and viscosity

d. Liquid Dose Pkg. –Tare weight check, measurements for deliverable volume, fill

weight, torque test, periodic check

5. Verify and document serialization checks for bottles, bundles, and aggregation of cases

6. Collect, record, and deliver laboratory samples to the chemistry, microbiology, stability and

R&D groups per batch record or protocol instructions

7. Inspect and verify equipment calibration is current

6. Good math skills

Education/Training

Two (2) years pharmaceutical experience or quality experience preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

This job requires sitting and standing for long periods of time uninterrupted. This job also includes a large amount of walking throughout the day. Lifting and reaching above shoulder height and below the waist using proper lifting techniques is required. Occasional lifting up to 70 pounds may also occur.

The performance of this position occasionally requires exposure to manufacturing areas where, under certain circumstances, personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, safety suits, respirators, and hearing protection are mandatory. The primary environment will be near ambient room temperature with typical office lighting and exposure to traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.

This position also requires drug screening and a DEA criminal background check.
