Location: Lobster Shop, Ruston Way, Tacoma WA.

Concept: Fresh Pacific Northwest seafood, Prime Dry-Aged Steaks, and iconic lobster dishes alongside incredible wines and cocktails; high quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation.

Tacoma’s premier waterfront restaurant, the Lobster Shop, located on Commencement Bay, is a decades-long mainstay of the local dining scene. Since opening in 1981, loyal guests return year after year for the friendly, knowledgeable service and the unbeatable views of Mount Rainier and the Olympics from every table. The seaside restaurant serves patrons fresh Pacific Northwest seafood, Prime Dry-Aged Steaks, and iconic lobster dishes alongside incredible wines and cocktails. In 2023, the Lobster Shop was remodeled, with an elevated new look and refreshed dining experience.

About the position

The Front Desk Host is the first person the guest sees and is responsible for the crucial first impression.  It is the Host’s job to ensure that each and every guest feels welcome, comfortable and appreciated. The guest must feel that we will do everything possible to make certain that their needs are provided for.  The Host must have a strong knowledge of what the restaurant has to offer them and be able to communicate this in a gracious and positive manner.

What we need from you

• 2 - 3 years front desk experience
• Reservation system (opentable/sevenrooms/etc) experience preferred
• High volume experience preferred
• Open availability preferred
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance required
• Able to lift 20 pounds
• Able to sustain high energy activities for extended periods of time, handle stress and remain cool under pressure
• Can work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Exhibits excellent phone manners and communication skills
• Be able to take ownership of your work and willing to be held accountable for your actions
• A natural affinity for hospitality; kindness and graciousness towards others
• Must have stage presence at all times

Pay: Chart Host Starting Pay $18 plus tips (full range $18-20/hour)

               Runner Host $16.66-16.66 per hour plus tips
