Welcome guests, manage calls, and coordinate seating to deliver smooth, polished service. 

  

We are a team that celebrates warm hospitality, thoughtful service, and the energy of a landmark waterfront restaurant known for quality and consistency. We are looking for outgoing runners, greeters, and phone hosts who anticipate guest needs, coordinate every detail end-to-end, and deliver seamless experiences from inquiry to farewell. What You'll Do 

  • Create a standout first impression-welcome every guest warmly, keep them comfortable, and make each interaction feel seen and valued. 

  • Maintain open body language and proactive engagement on the floor. 

  • Answer and route calls with professional etiquette on a busy, multi-line system; provide accurate directions, hours, and event info. 

  • Guide guests on oyster bar seating, happy hour details, and event offerings. 

  • Use POS and phone systems efficiently; handle basic cash tasks; complete side work and keep the host stand spotless. 

What You Bring

 

Must Haves 

  • 1-2 years in fine dining of comparable quality or 2 years in a customer service role 

  • Excellent phone manners and clear, professional communication. 

  • Coordinate special occasions and VIPs; communicate timing with the floor and bar. 

  • Comfortable initiating friendly conversations with guests to set expectations, answer questions, and enhance comfort during waits. 

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods (reasonable accommodations available). 

  • Weekend availability and reliable, consistent attendance. 

Preferred 

  • 1-2 years in a high-volume restaurant. 

  • Familiarity with the Toast point of sale system. 

  • Proficiency with a reservation platform like SevenRooms and OpenTable.  

Pay & Compensation

 

Average earnings $22-$32/per hour with commissions. 

  • $4/hour base rate + 6% pooled commission on restaurant's gross sales. 

  • *In the unlikely event the base rate + commissions in a workweek do not meet or exceed the minimum wage, server assistants will be paid at least the minimum wage of $21.30/hour.
