Title: Legal Administrative Assistant
Reports to: General Counsel
Company: Coulson Oil, Inc.
Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Description Summary:
The Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the General Counsel in a legal environment. This position conducts legal research, drafts legal documents, manages schedules, and ensures the efficient and effective administration of the office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate legal research and analysis
- Compile, proofread and revise drafts of legal documents and reports
- Daily recordkeeping with electronic and hard copy filing of documents
- Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, accounting, retail, etc.)
- Obtain relevant information from other organizations or agencies
- Create and organize information and generate reference tools for easy use by the office
- Prepare and format legal and management reports
- Maintain and update databases and tracking systems
- Make certain that all records are filed correctly and kept confidential
- Respond to all case-related queries information
- Ensure efficient and effective administrative information and assistance
- Regular attendance to work
- Other projects and duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent skills in MS Office Suite, Lexis-Nexis (any other software??)
- Ability to interact with all levels in an organization.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of data bases and tracking systems
- Excellent written skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Reliable, personable and resourceful
- Analytical thinker with detailed research proficiencies
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a legal environment
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent skills in MS Office suite.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass MVR standards.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
