Catering Server
Position Summary:
The Server employee is accountable for helping setup and breakdown outdoor and indoor offsite catering events. They are required to continuously maintain their section of tables, servicing guests in wide open areas outdoors and indoors, Running food and beverages to guests. Restocking plates and glassware as needed. Maintaining up to date food, beverage and service policies knowledge. Collecting money from guests for orders received when necessary. Meeting timing standards set in place for your restaurant. Always showing generous hospitality to guests. Maintains a team player mentality for executing high quality events.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures exceptional customer service and hospitality is provided to the internal team and customers for offsite events.
- Responsible for continuously managing their section by getting food and beverages to where they are going quickly, and exceptional customer service throughout the scheduled shift.
- Maintains a clean and organized service areas including but not limited to dry and clean floors to ensure staff safety, clean surfaces, clean tabletop and refilling product as needed at beverage stations.
- Assists with restocking tasks to ensure a constant inventory of beverages from the cooler and clean glassware for employees to use.
- Ensures guests are happy with their food, service, and beverages.
- Follows TABC standards, maintains TABC Certification, does not serve people to the point of intoxication, and does not serve already intoxicated people.
- Only serves alcohol to people 21 years of age or older.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to carrying a small drink tray & a large food tray over your shoulder.
- Ability to maintain clean and hygienic work areas in accordance with Jack Allen’s Kitchen, Day Maker Half Day Café, and Salt Trader and health code standards
- Knowledge of food sanitation and safety principles and practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Education, Certifications, and Licenses
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Texas Food Handler’s License
- TABC Certified
Experience
- Some restaurant and full service catering experience preferred

Working Conditions
The working conditions for this position include an indoor climate-controlled environment with minimal health and safety hazards. Hot plates and hot heat lamps in kitchen work area. Working conditions outdoors includes in the sun and/ or covered tents in hot or cold weather environments. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, multitask, perform simple and repetitive tasks, attain precise attention to detail, control the work pace, follow instructions, work under supervision, handle confrontational situations, and work alone or in a group. Environmental conditions include working in an indoor setting with exposure to noise, congested areas, slippery surfaces, sharp edges, and handling sharp, hot, cold, and wet objects. Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position primarily involve constant walking and standing and frequent bending forward and twisting at the waist, reaching above/below shoulder and chest level, elbow and wrist flexion and extension, neck twisting/turning/tilting, and foot pedal action. Carrying a large and small tray weighing up to 30 lbs over your shoulder is required. Heavy lifting over 40lbs may include tables, chairs, ice buckets, ice chests, hot boxes, glass racks, plate stacks, portable tents and other items needed for offsite catering events. Occasional crouching, kneeling, and reaching behind the body. The individual in this position must have fine motor skills.
