Job Title: Occupational Therapy, Registered (OTR)

Reports to: Education Director & Director of Human Resources

 

JOB PURPOSE

At The Inspired Community Project (TICP), we’re not just delivering services — we’re reimagining what early childhood education and school-based therapy can look like when equity, inclusion, and community are at the center. We’re seeking a passionate Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) who’s ready to be part of something meaningful and impactful from the ground up.

WHAT YOU'LL DO!

Provide direct occupational therapy services to children through the following programs:

  •  Early Intervention (EI)
  • Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)
  • Committee on Special Education (CSE) 
  • RSA (Related Service Authorization) letters through the DOE

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide mentorship and clinical supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), reviewing evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports ensuring alignment with IFSP and IEP goals
  • Lead case reviews, team meetings, and professional development sessions for COTAs and OT Students, fostering a collaborative work environment and offering guidance on therapy techniques and professional growth. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with transdisciplinary teams, including SPLs, BTAs and RBTs to implement integrated treatment plans that meet developmental milestones and family-centered goals.
  • Collaborate with BACBs, SEITs and Lead Group Teachers to develop ideal classroom environments, including arranging materials and structuring instructional spaces.

Assessment & Treatment Oversight

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for eligibility and service planning, including standardized assessments, clinical observations, and family interviews
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and provide clinical recommendations for modifications when needed.
  • Conduct monthly gym integrity and safety checks to ensure therapy spaces and equipment are well-maintained, clean, and safe for client use

 

WHO YOU ARE!

  • A certified and licensed OTR in New York State. 
  • Possess strong evaluation, assessment, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Is committed to providing trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally responsive care.
  • Has a collaborative, flexible, and mission-aligned mindset.
  • Passionate about mentoring, innovating, inspiring, and creating a positive team environment.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) a PLUS - role will involve communicating with Spanish-speaking families 

 

WHAT YOU HAVE!

  • Master’s degree (or higher) from an ACOTE-accredited OT program
  • Active New York State OT license
  • NBCOT certification (Registered Occupational Therapist, OTR)
  • Experience with EI, CPSE, CSE, and RSA services
  • Strong evaluation, assessment, and clinical reasoning skills

SCHEDULE:

  • Tuesday - Saturday: While this is ideally a full-time role, we offer flexibility in how your schedule is structured. 

 

SALARY & TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGES:

  • Base Salary (No Benefits Selected): $90,000 – $100,000 annually
  • Estimated Total Compensation with Parking Only: $93,000 – $103,000 annually
  • Estimated Total Compensation with Medical Coverage Only: $105,000 – $115,000 annually
  • Estimated Total Compensation with Both Medical & Parking: $108,000 – $118,000 annually
     

Please note: These compensation ranges reflect the estimated total value of your salary plus selected employer-paid benefits. Final amounts will vary based on individual benefit elections.

 

BENEFITS:

  • Medical & Vision (worth $15,000/year) - immediately eligible upon hire
  • Free onsite parking (worth $3,000/year) - immediately available upon hire
  • 401k, HSA, Commuter Benefits- immediately eligible upon hire
  • Additional benefits plans to be provided down the line: Dental
  • PTO: Total 6 weeks [31 days]
  • Discretionary PTO Days: [10 Days - can roll over] 2 weeks PTO per calendar year.
  • Predetermined PTO Weeks: [10 days - do not roll over]
    • Last week of August & the week between Christmas and New Year
  • Predetermined PTO Holidays: [11 Days - do not rollover] 
    • MLK Day, Presidents Day, Employee Appreciation Day (March), Autism Advocacy Day (April), Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples Day, Thanksgiving & Black Frid
