Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Reports to: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Supervisor
Job purpose
The Inspired Community Project, Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dynamic team and to provide high-quality, evidence-based speech and language services to early childhood and elementary aged children. At The Inspired Community Project, you’ll work in a collaborative, dynamic, and supportive environment, alongside a team of Occupational Therapists, BABCs, Behavior Technician Apprentices (BTAs), Registered Behavior Therapists (RBTs), and other dedicated professionals who share your commitment to making a difference.
The SLP will be responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language pathology services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation to help the children develop the communication skills they need to thrive. This position requires a strong understanding of communication disorders, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and families.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct Care: Provide individualized speech-language therapy to early childhood and elementary aged children, fostering their communication and social skills.
- Assessment & Treatment Planning: Review physician referrals and medical records, develop personalized treatment plans, implement therapy programs, and document goals and progress.
- Ongoing Evaluation: Continuously assess treatment effectiveness, making necessary adjustments to maximize each child’s developmental progress.
- Collaborative Approach: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, BACBs, Behavior Technician Apprentices (BTAs), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), to ensure comprehensive, individualized support for each child.
- IFSP/IEP Development: Contribute to the implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to align therapy with each child's specific needs
- Consultation: Provide consultation to families and parents/guardians/caregivers regarding communication development, strategies to support communication, and resources available
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all sessions, including assessments, treatment plans and progress notes, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date with best practices.
- Compliance: Adhere to all ethical guidelines, professional standards, and state and federal regulations governing the practice of speech-language pathology.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of New York.
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Qualifications
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of treatment plans and therapies and develop alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to arising issues
- Prior experience working with children with autism and in early childhood settings is preferred.
- Open to learning, growing, and thriving in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) a PLUS - role will involve communicating with Spanish-speaking families. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, with a salary premium for bilingual Spanish skills.
Schedule
- Full-time: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:30am-6:30pm; onsite - 3681 Bruckner Blvd, Bronx, NY 10461
Pay Rate & Benefits
Pay Rate: $70,000-$80,000/year - weekly payroll (EXEMPT)
