Job purpose

The Inspired Community Project (TICP) is seeking a dedicated HR Program Recruitment Specialist to lead recruitment efforts for New York State's Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program. This role will primarily focus on sourcing, attracting, and securing qualified candidates for the Behavioral Health Apprenticeship cohorts, aligning with TICP’s mission to advance economic and racial equity by providing specialized workforce development opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for connecting diverse talent to career pathways in behavioral health, particularly those traditionally underserved or underrepresented in the field.

As the HR Program Recruitment Specialist, you will play a critical role in expanding access to TICP’s Training & Excellence Apprenticeship Program, supporting the growth of the next generation of Behavioral Health professionals. You will collaborate with educational institutions, community organizations, and workforce development partners to identify and engage candidates, with a specific focus on the recruitment of apprentices for the state-recognized Behavioral Health Apprenticeship. In this role, you will contribute to TICP’s vision of creating sustainable, accessible career pathways for individuals interested in becoming Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment efforts for Behavioral Health Apprenticeship cohorts, with a focus on attracting diverse candidates from underrepresented backgrounds in the behavioral health field.
  • Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans, leveraging partnerships with community-based organizations, educational institutions, and job placement programs to source candidates.
  • Screen, interview, and assess potential apprentices to ensure they align with TICP’s values and the requirements of the Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support seamless onboarding and integration of apprentices into TICP’s workforce development programs.
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders, including workforce development agencies and educational partners, to enhance recruitment pipelines and expand the program's reach.
  • Maintain detailed recruitment records and provide regular reports on recruitment progress and outcomes.
  • Support the broader HR team in staffing efforts, ensuring alignment with TICP’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.

 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in recruitment, preferably within behavioral health, workforce development, or apprenticeship programs.
  • Strong understanding of TICP’s mission to advance racial and economic equity and a demonstrated commitment to supporting underrepresented populations.
  • Proven ability to manage recruitment pipelines, conduct interviews, and evaluate candidates for program and role fit.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of New York State apprenticeship standards and familiarity with Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) qualifications is a plus.

Position Details 

  • Position: Full-time position, 40 hours per week. 
  • Schedule: To be determined in consultation with the CEO/ED, Remote position  
  • Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 annually
