Position Overview
The Loan Officer is a key leadership role responsible for originating quality commercial and agricultural loans, managing the health of the Bank’s loan portfolio, and developing strong community relationships. This position plays a critical role in mentoring lenders, supporting strategic objectives, and ensuring adherence to the Bank’s credit culture and policies
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong community, customer, and referral relationships.
- Originate and manage commercial and agricultural while maintaining portfolio quality
- Partner with the Chief Credit Officer and Chief Lending Officer to strengthen the lending team.
- Mentor and develop lenders to enhance underwriting and relationship-management skills.
- Assist in setting interest rates and supporting strategic lending objectives
- Analyze complex credit transactions and present loans for approval as required
- Monitor portfolio performance, delinquency, and charge-offs to maintain asset quality
- Ensure compliance with all applicable banking laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses, schools and community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum five years of experience of lending with an existing Bank’s portfolio or applicable business experience.
- Proven leadership, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound credit decisions.
