Job Summary
Cottey College is an independent liberal arts and sciences college for women with a unique relationship to P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) International, an organization dedicated to supporting women's educational opportunities. As an educational project of P.E.O., Cottey partners closely with P.E.O. chapters across the United States and Canada in support of student recruitment, scholarships, and student success.
The Financial Aid and P.E.O. Scholarship Coordinator serves as a student-facing member of the Enrollment Management team, supporting prospective and current students throughout the recruitment, financial aid, and enrollment process. This position provides exceptional customer service while assisting students and families with financial aid opportunities, scholarship programs, affordability planning, and enrollment-related services.
In addition to administering financial aid programs, the counselor serves as a primary liaison for P.E.O.-related scholarship processes, communications, and partnerships. The position collaborates closely with admissions, financial aid, and enrollment staff to support student recruitment, campus visits, scholarship coordination, and initiatives that advance student enrollment and success.
Financial Aid & P.E.O. Scholarship Administration
Counsel prospective and current students and their families regarding financial aid opportunities, scholarship programs, financing options, and related processes.
Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, institutional, private, and P.E.O.-related financial aid and scholarship programs and apply applicable policies and regulations.
Determine student financial aid eligibility, package awards, and assist with the administration of financial aid and scholarship programs.
Review, process, and maintain student financial aid records, applications, supporting documentation, and related communications.
Coordinate and support Cottey College's participation in P.E.O. scholarship programs, serving as a liaison to students, families, and P.E.O. constituents.
Collaborate with P.E.O. chapters to facilitate scholarship opportunities, communications, reporting, and student support initiatives.
Develop and deliver financial literacy education and outreach programs that promote responsible borrowing and financial wellness.
Maintain confidentiality of student information and ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations.
Assist with special projects, professional development activities, and other duties as assigned.
Enrollment Support
- Provide courteous, professional, and timely assistance to students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Serve as a point of contact for prospective and current students regarding financial aid opportunities, enrollment processes, and student support services.
- Meet with prospective students and families during campus visits.
- Conduct financial aid review appointments and outreach calls with prospective students and families to explain financial aid packages, financing options, and next steps in the enrollment process.
- Facilitate campus tours and assist with visit event coverage, as needed.
- Assist admissions staff with enrollment processing and related functions during peak recruitment periods.
- Be trained to assist with transcript processing and other enrollment operations functions during high-volume periods.
- Support enrollment management leadership with special projects and initiatives, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency with financial aid and student information systems such as PowerFAIDS, Slate, and Jenzabar preferred but not required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also managing responsibilities independently.

Credentials and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience of 1-2 years in enrollment or financial aid preferred.
