Job Title: Primary Prevention Coordinator 
Reports to: Director of Grants, Evaluation, and Education Initiatives 
Supervises: None 
Classification: Full-time / Exempt
Salary: $49,890

Position Summary
The Primary Prevention Coordinator (PPC) works as part of the Rape Crisis Center’s education and outreach team to plan, implement, and evaluate prevention programming. This role focuses on addressing the root causes of sexual violence by engaging organizations and community members in a process of learning, conversation, skill-building, and action. In collaboration with a growing network of partners, the PPC designs activities and initiatives that address the risk factors associated with sexual violence, while building protective factors such as community support and connectedness.

This position requires careful program implementation and assessment to meet organizational goals and grant requirements. Hours may vary depending on program needs, with occasional evening or weekend commitments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary facilitator for a community coalition that works collaboratively to design prevention activities and expand the reach of prevention messages.
• Support youth-led community initiatives and promote positive youth development.
• Deliver educational workshops for youth in community settings.
• Provide training for youth-serving professionals.
• Implement training programs for students and campus personnel designed to reduce the incidence of sexual assault at colleges and universities.
• Prepare educational materials – including printed and digital materials, social media posts, podcasts, and multi-media toolkits – to support prevention initiatives.
• Participate in data collection, outcome measurement, and program evaluation efforts.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
• Represent the Rape Crisis Center at community meetings and events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Professional and Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in public health/social service field from an accredited college or university preferred. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered.
• Experience with community engagement and/or coalition-building is required.
• Experience working in the education, public health and/or social service field is preferred.
Other Requirements and Preferences
• Commitment to ending sexual violence and cultivating a safe, healthy, and community is required.
• Familiarity with the social ecological model and public health approach to violence prevention is preferred.
• Experience developing, implementing, and/or evaluating community-level programming is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the risk and protective factors associated with sexual violence.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, and members of the community coalition.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, proficiency with database systems, and familiarity with Canva.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• All RCC staff members must pass a background check and drug screening before employment.
• Required to complete the 40-Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Training Program offered by the Rape Crisis Center within six months of the employee’s start date.
