Job Description: 

  • Assist Store Manager in leading and managing a team to achieve and exceed goals for sales, profit, expenses, shrink, etc.

  • Lead in a way that creates an environment for your store to be a “GREAT PLACE TO WORK AND A GREAT PLACE TO SHOP”. See the company plan on how best to achieve this. 

  • Assist Store Manager in merchandising the store to meet company guidelines that drive sales and build the brand.

  • Learn, teach, and execute our “ONE TEAM ONE DIRECTION” directives.

  • Manage company priorities such as safety, security, housekeeping, and facility maintenance.

  • Assist Store Manager in building your team through the company direction for recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, training, task management, mentoring, coaching and annual reviews.

  • Learn and apply knowledge on reviewing P & L’s sales reports, departmental sales reports, etc.

  • Assist store manager in operating within our existing processes and procedures including researching products in our inventory management system, POS, and scheduling to meet the budget and business needs. 

  • Conduct price changes, signage requirements, ad setting and other in store pricing and marketing programs. 

  • Model the right behavior on time and attendance, work ethic and tasks in general. 45 hrs. per week.

  • Be a team player and assist others within the company as needed with a positive attitude.

  • Communicate in a professional and respectful manner to both internal and external partners.

  • Follow the employee handbook guidelines. 

Note: Job duties listed above may be changed as the business needs dictates. Teamwork and being flexible to take on new challenges and potentially relinquishing past responsibilities may be required.

Qualifications and educational requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in retail management preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (email)

  • Typing emails, letters and drafting pertinent business plans as necessary

  • Review reports such as P & L’s, sales/margin reports, merchandise reports, etc.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all store operations, including sales, inventory management, and merchandising.

- Lead, motivate, and develop store associates to create a high-performing team focused on customer satisfaction and sales goals.

- Ensure excellent customer service by training staff on effective selling techniques and maintaining high service standards.

- Help with the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.

- Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to meet targets.

- Manage inventory control, including stock levels, ordering, and loss prevention practices.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

- Assist in visual merchandising and promotional displays to enhance the customer shopping experience.

- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and effectively.

- Participate in regular store meetings and provide feedback on staff performance and store operations.

**Qualifications:**

- Previous experience in retail management or a supervisory role is preferred.

- Strong leadership and team-building skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale systems.

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
